Some services offer an automated verification call instead of an SMS. The call may speak a code or ask for a keypad action. Use the method shown by the service and prepare your number to receive that call.
Check the offered options
| Method | What arrives | What you need |
|---|---|---|
| SMS | A text message with instructions or a code | Incoming SMS support |
| Phone call | Spoken instructions or a keypad request | Incoming calls and a suitable answering client |
Prepare your number
Choose an active number that supports incoming calls and matches the destination service’s requirements. In Blacktel, review the number’s current call-handling mode and incoming price.
For a live verification call, be ready in the client where you receive calls. A greeting, voicemail or forwarding setup may handle it differently. Do not assume that a code will always be left in voicemail or that every automated menu is supported.
Receive the verification call
- Open the security or registration screen for your own account.
- If a call option is offered, confirm the full number and select it.
- Keep the receiving client connected, allow the required audio permissions and answer the incoming call.
- Listen to the instructions. Enter a spoken code on the service’s verification screen, or use a compatible keypad if the call asks for a key.
- Complete the screen before its timer expires and restore your preferred call-handling settings afterwards.
If the call does not arrive
Check active status, call capability, number format and the current answering destination. Follow the service’s retry timer instead of repeatedly requesting calls.
If voice verification is not offered, choose another available method or use the service’s official recovery process. Buying a voice-capable number does not add a “Call me” option to every website.
Questions and answers
Can an SMS-only number receive a voice code?
It needs incoming-call support. SMS and voice are separate capabilities.
Will the service always leave a voicemail?
No. Some require a live answer or keypad response. Follow the particular service’s instructions.
